Help for Haiti We have all been following the events in Haiti this past week as the result of a devastating earthquake. Like many of you, we as a church, have had to determine what our response should be. We feel God has led Central to respond in the following way.
The Children of the Promise Orphanage in Cap-Haitian is heavily involved in receiving orphans and refuges from the city of Port au Prince. This will be a long term relief effort as hundreds of orphans will be received into the Children of the Promise over the next several months. In order to sustain this effort, the orphanage will need supplies. For a list of supplies click here. You may drop supplies off at church during regular office hours M-F 8:30am-5:00pm or Sundays 8am-noon.
Central has been challenged to participate in “Kingdom Initiatives” and this will be just one more step in our journey in becoming more like Christ. We can't do everything, but we must do something. Thanks for stretching to serve the least of these.
Summit Expeditions 2010 Join Pastor Petersen on a monthly Expeditions of Bible reading in 2010. Each month we will read a different book of the Bible. The First Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in Oakwood Chapel Pastor Petersen will teach a 1 hour class introducing the book to be read. Click the icon below or click here to learn more.

Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of Central Baptist Church has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 11:30am following the second service. We will not have a dessert social as originally planned.For more information including the 2010 budget click here .
New Worship OpportunitiesBeginning Sunday, January 3, 2010, a Traditional worship service will be offered in the Oakwood Chapel.This service will consist of a reverent mix of familiar hymns and spirited gospel choruses accompanied by an organ and a piano. Additional elements will include responsive readings, congregational prayer by a pastor or Elder, "witness stand", special music and a choir.
Contemporary ServiceOur Contemporary Service will be at 10:20am in the Worship Center where you will experience an enthusiastic multi-sensory experience led by a praise band. Additional elements will include drama, interviews, media enhancements and congregational interaction.
Financial Peace University (FPU)FPU is a 13-week life-changing program that teaches you to achieve your financial goals by eliminating debt, saving for the future, and giving like never before. You will be challenged and motivated to make a plan for your money and change your family tree forever. Classes begin on Sunday, February 7 from 3:00-5:00pm in the Family Life Center. Constitution and Bylaws Update
The new constitution and bylaw adoption schedule be amended as follows:
Present formal motions for adoption at the July 2010 Quarterly Business Meeting, with final action to be taken at the October 2010 Quarterly Business Meeting. Motion carried.
